Can I test my own product on a food packaging machine before I place an order?

Update Time:2026/10/19

Quick Answer

Yes. TOP Y runs a free material test before you commit – send a product sample and your film to our factory, or watch a live video trial. You receive a written report with the achieved speed, filling accuracy and seal strength.

Three ways to test your product

MethodWhat happensTime required
Sample test at our factoryYou ship 5–10 kg of product plus film; our engineers run the machine and record data3–5 working days after arrival
Live video trialScheduled video session with the machine running your productBooked within 48 hours
Factory acceptance test (FAT)Full trial on your finished machine before shipmentBuilt into the delivery schedule

What the test report contains

  • Achieved speed in bags per minute at stable running, not peak
  • Filling accuracy in ±grams across a recorded sample run
  • Seal strength and leak test result
  • Recommended machine configuration and the matching quotation
  • Notes on any product issue found, such as dusting, bridging or static

Why testing first protects your investment

Products that look similar on paper behave differently on a machine. Bulk density, oil content, particle size and film slip each change dosing accuracy and seal quality. Testing on the real product is the only reliable way to confirm a specification before a deposit is paid – and it is the step that most often reveals that a cheaper machine class would have failed on your product.

What to send

  • 5–10 kg of production product, or a representative sample
  • Your packaging film, including any printed roll
  • Target bag size, fill weight and output per minute

How to read the test report

  • Check the reported speed was reached at stable running, not in a short burst.
  • Confirm the fill accuracy figure is stated in ±grams with the sample size behind it.
  • Ask which configuration produced those numbers, and whether it is the one being quoted.
